Greeting the sunrise in Haleakalā National Park is one of the most popular things to do when visiting Maui. Join our Haleakalā Sunrise Tour and witness what many have called the most beautiful sunrise on earth, guided by our professional, local experts.

For almost 150 years, visitors to Maui have ascended Haleakalā to experience the miracle of demi-god Maui’s efforts. But for over 1,000 years before that, Hawaiians held Haleakalā sacred. Known as wao akua, or “realm of the gods,” its summit was visited only when necessary and only by certain individuals such as kahuna (priests). Discover the special meanings and purposes behind Haleakalā’s unique animals, plants, and rocks.

Come with us as we explore the stories of this enchanted realm. Be inspired by the National Park landscape, and immerse yourself in the sacredness of Haleakalā’s summit.

What People Are Saying

This was such a lovely trip. It was an early start but the bus is comfy and we were able to snooze on the way up. We arrived in time to star gaze and loved the Hawaiian prayer/chant to greet the sun. Breakfast was served at a beautiful location! Highly recommend but bring your own blanket!! It’s cold up there.

Our Haleakala Sunrise tour with Abe was nothing short of amazing! He gave us so much information and got us to the summit in time to have a front row view of the sunrise! Breakfast at the Tropical Plantation was incredible too— the perfect end to our long journey that morning!

Taylor G

Had a wonderful experience on the Haleakala tour! They pick you up from the airport and give you a fleece lined poncho at the top! Even with my winter jacket, the poncho was much appreciated. They get you up to the National Park super early so if it’s clear, star gazing is incredible and you get a front row view for the sunrise!
Breakfast to follow was excellent as well!
